Supreme pays tribute to the late Daniel Johnston in their newest drop. The Austin, Texas musician and artist, who died in September 2019, created unique works of musical and visual art that were influenced by his schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The capsule collection features original Johnston artwork, highlighting some of his most iconic creations such as Jeremiah the Innocent, the frog adorning the cover of his 1983 album Hi How Are You, which can be found on a pair of plaid shirts from long sleeve, work pants, t-shirts and hats. Supreme also pays tribute to his efforts outside of music, including his comic Space Ducks – An Infinite Comic Book of Musical Greatness and his illustration The Silver Sufferer, which appears on hoodies and t-shirts. Embroidered work shirts and jackets complete the collection, featuring graphics that showcase the haunting but extraordinary art of Johnston.
The Supreme x Daniel Johnston collection will only drop through the Supreme web store on May 14.
