YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, has announced that the media giant is looking into incorporating NFTs and Web3 technology, that can be used by the sites content creators, giving them another source of income.

The announcement was published yesterday, January 25, as a letter on YouTube’s own blog.

“The past year in the world of crypto, nonfungible tokens (NFTs), and even decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) has highlighted a previously unimaginable opportunity to grow the connection between creators and their fans. We’re always focused on expanding the YouTube ecosystem to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies, including things like NFTs, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the experiences creators and fans have on YouTube.”

Earlier this month Twitter added NFT profile verification, and with the growing popularity and demand for NFT features, it makes perfect sense for the rest of the tech-giants to incorporate NFTs into their platforms.
