Undoubtedly, the collaboration between Dr. Martens and A-COLD-WALL* has forged a unique design heritage since their initial encounter. Embodying a brutalist interpretation of utilitarian aesthetics, their creations evoke an architectural austerity that resonates with the working-class upbringing of Samuel Ross. In keeping with this tradition, their latest offering introduces a reimagined silhouette crafted from supple leather and accentuated by crisp molded edges.
The iconic 1461 shoe, now offered in black or grey WP nubuck, exudes a weathered charm and boasts water-resistant properties. It rests atop a towering Bex sole, imparting a commanding presence. The grey variant features a translucent Iced sole adorned with ecru stitching, while the black version rests on a smoked sole with yellow stitching. The silhouette is enriched with silver rivet embellishments, while the traditional laces have been replaced by a central zip featuring an A-COLD-WALL* branded pull tab. Preserving the unmistakable Dr. Martens identity, the signature heel loop is subtly shaded and engraved in yellow.
The captivating campaign, featuring the talented Jenna Fetcher, embodies the groundbreaking spirit of this exclusive partnership. The collection will be made available on May 26th through drmartens.com and select retail stores.
