Hans Christian Andersen is one of the most famous and beloved fairy tale and childrens book writers to ever grace a pen. He is the auther behind The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling and The Little Match Girl, etc.
Now a museum dedicated to Andersen is being built in Odense, Denmark, which was his hometown. The museum is set to open this summer 2021, and promises to offer a unique experience to visitors by immersing them in the literary world of Andersen, in an ad hoc structure designed by the equally famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
“The idea behind the architectural design resembles Andersen’s method, where a small world suddenly expands into a larger universe,”. The facility includes an underground, technologically advanced museum, a children’s home and is nestled in what has already been dubbed the “magical garden.”– Kengo Kuma
