Bored Ape Yacht Club Founders Buy CryptoPunks & Meebits

One of the most prized NFT collections out there is the CryptoPunks series. It was founded in 2017 by Larva Labs, who also created Meebits, an extremely valuable collection in its own right. Now, the good folks behind Yuga Labs – who created Bored Ape Yacht Club, has announced the acquisition of both collections, which means that they now own 3 of the most valuable NFT collections in the world!

The amount of the acquisition has yet to be revealed, but it’s going to be interesting watching how these collections develop under new leadership.

Some big news to share today: Yuga has acquired the CryptoPunks and Meebits collections from @LarvaLabs, and the first thing we’re doing is giving full commercial rights to the NFT holders. Just like we did for BAYC and MAYC owners. pic.twitter.com/lAIKKvoEDj

We're not in a rush to do anything but give people full commercial rights, see what they build, and listen. Learn more here: https://t.co/4bL603nKG3
