O.Macbain (b.1997), is a self-taught artist based out of Moscow, Russia. Memes represent the core subject matter of her artworks. Exploring modern irony with classical methods like oil painting, the Olga depicts the most memorable internet moments of her generation. As a former student of social anthropology (RSUH) she perceives the meme phenomenon as an artifact of digital folklore, cultural significance of which is yet to be fully recognized.
