In a bold move into the realm of furniture design, Levi’s has partnered with The Visionary Lab and Vitra to launch “Icons Re/Outfitted,” an innovative project that brought new life to retired Vitra chairs using repurposed Levi’s denim. This collaborative effort, showcased during the Dutch Design Week, united a diverse array of artists and fashion designers, highlighting the significance of extending the lifespan of denim and embracing more sustainable practices in product creation. “We are excited to be part of Icons Re/Outfitted, which not only champions innovation and craftsmanship but also demonstrates how the life expectancy of our textiles can be extended through innovative design methods,” said the VP of Marketing and Levi’s brand experience in Northern Europe, emphasizing the project’s ability to demonstrate how textiles can gain extended utility through groundbreaking design approaches.
