The American artist Travis Weller and The North Face has teamed up on a limited edition Vectivtm shoe inspired by the colors of the orange trails and pine forests of the Western States.
Weller won a gold medal for completing the Oil Creek trail race in 22 hours, and he loves nature and outdoor sports. Based on that and his road trips through the Western States 100, this collaboration with The North Face came to be.
“Trail running brings clarity to my life. The color is more intense on the tops of the mountains and in the forest emotions are experienced more intensely. These abstractions in nature are the basis of my work and of this collaboration.”– Travis Weller
His inspiration in creating the new Vectivm has been based on the three different sections of the race course.
“Each of these sections has a unique personality and brings out the different personalities of those who participate in the race. I have created a color story based on the specific environment and the emotions of the runners that are encountered along the course.”– Travis Weller
