Elon Musk has just purchased 73,486,938 shares in Twitter, which adds up to 9.2% of the social media giant. The shares are valued at around $2.89 billion, and to give you an idea of just how big this purchase is, it’s about four times as many shares as Jack Dorsey, who founded Twitter.
Back in March, Musk flirted with the idea of starting his own social media platform, because of Twitter’s stance on freedom of speech. But it seems as though that want be necessary. It will be interesting to follow the development of Twitter, and Elon’s influence on the media giant.
