According to Variety, the 2009 cult movie and masterpiece Un Prophète (A Prophet), by Jacques Audiard, will be made in to a series. This time the story will take place in Marseille, and follow the adventures of a young black man who climbs the ranks of organized crime during his brief stay in prison. According to Variety, part of the original team will be back for this adaptation: the producer Marco Cherqui as well as the writers Abdel Raouf Dafri and Nicolas Peufaillit should be part of it. They hope to start filming this series which will consist of ten episodes in the second half of 2021.
