Kiko Kostadinov‘s rise in fashion has been a whirlwind of sculpted rebellion. His designs are like portals to a future where practicality and artistic expression coexist. This philosophy finds its perfect accomplice in ASICS, a brand whose technology has always pushed the boundaries of human potential. Their latest collaboration, the GEL-FLAMMAE, is a testament to this meeting of minds.
The shoe itself is a paradox of strength and grace. A lightweight mesh base forms the foundation, overlaid with sleek, sculpted segments of premium leather. This isn’t just visual intrigue; it’s a carefully considered balance of breathability, support, and undeniable style. Underfoot, a reimagined version of ASICS’ GEL cushioning system promises a ride that feels like defying gravity itself.
Inspiration for the GEL-FLAMMAE draws from the rich heritage of ASICS’ archive models, the GEL-WAHINE II and the GEL-NETBURNER IGS II. This homage is further woven into the campaign, lensed by British photographer Rosie Marks. The setting? Australia, the homeland of Laura and Deanna Fanning, the creative minds behind the GEL-FLAMMAE’s design. The images, a celebration of netball’s energetic spirit, perfectly embody the fusion of heritage and innovation that defines this collaboration. Look out for the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS GEL-FLAMMAE collection launching on July 19 at ASICS website and select retailers.
