Cecilie Bahnsen deepens her collaboration with ASICS Sportstyle by reimagining the GEL-KAYANO 20 silhouette, blending ethereal elegance with technical precision. Unveiled at her FW25 runway show, this release embodies her design philosophy of soft functionalitybold femininity, and meticulous attention to detail. Drawing inspiration from a 2005 marathon tabi silhouette discovered in the ASICS archives, Bahnsen transforms the sneaker with a half-tongue constructionasymmetrical lacing, and her iconic floral appliqués, creating a fusion of sportiness and poetic craftsmanship.

Bahnsen describes this iteration as an evolution of her earlier Mary Jane collaboration with ASICS, calling it “more sculptural and more contrasting.” The asymmetrical lacing, inspired by the original tabi, is adorned with lace tuftsresembling her signature flowers, elevating the sneaker into a statement piece. The design amplifies her floral aestheticthrough a cage structure featuring contrasting overlaystranslucent meshreflective stitching, and metallic details. Available in two colorways—“Olive” and “Vanilla/Pure Silver”—the sneaker harmonizes nature and futurism, reflecting Bahnsen’s ability to balance contrasting elements with precision.

This collaboration redefines the sneaker as a work of art, merging athletic heritage with high-fashion sensibility, and solidifies Bahnsen’s reputation for pushing boundaries in design innovation.

The pre-release will be on May 2 exclusively on Cecilie Bahnsen’s website, while the global drop will arrive on May 16 through ASICS.
