Swedish fashion house, Acne Studios, has unveiled its newest store in the heart of Miami’s Design District, showcasing a focus on diaphanousness. The minimalist two-floor, 200 m2 store was created by the Swedish design studio Halleroed, with whom Acne Studios has had a long-standing collaboration. The store features a nuclear white lighting scheme, with colorful accents on mannequins and design elements. The lighting design is a continuation of the aesthetics of Acne Studios’ flagship store on rue Saint Honoré in Paris, brought to life by Benoît Lalloz. Artist Daniel Silver contributed nods to Miami’s Art Deco style with sofas and mannequins, while furniture designer Max Lamb provided colorful accents on the store’s seating.
The store reflects the tension of dualities in the work of Jonny Johansson, head of Acne Studios, and is infused with the romantic eccentricity of the latest SS23 collection. The organic, irregular shapes of the Blobs reference the unexpected quality of Acne Studios’ silhouettes from the SS23 collection, with Lamb recreating them in block tones of hand-dyed batik fabrics.
To celebrate the opening of its first store in the Miami Design District, Acne Studios has taken over Wynwood with a wedding chapel “a la Acne Studios.” The SS23-themed installation at 2300 N Miami Ave will be available for viewing through March 29th.
