The legendary auction house Christie’s, are about to break records for the most expensive 20th century work of art, ever sold at auction. The protagonist is the “Shot Sage Blue Marilyn” by Andy Warhol, from 1964. Estimated at $200 million, the iconic painting is cuttingly owned by the Zurich foundation of Thomas and Doris Ammann. 100% of the sale will be donated to charity, and according to the press release, the two siblings want this event to contribute “to improving the lives of children around the world, through health and education programs”.
“With 100% of the sale of a single painting going to charity, this is the highest auction for a philanthropic purpose since Peggy and David Rockefeller’s collection in 2018.”
