Taking over New York for Armory Week, the Brooklyn mischief-makers unveil ‘MOTOMORPHOSIS’—a high-voltage collision of automotive engineering, 3D glitchecore, and absurd formalism.
When MSCHF decides to tackle the automotive world, you can guarantee they aren’t dropping a standard concept car. The Brooklyn art collective—famous for hijacking internet culture, giant red boots, and subversive drops—has officially teamed up with Lexus for MOTOMORPHOSIS, a surreal exhibition staged at Chelsea Industrial for New York Armory Week.
By taking two of Lexus’s flagship electrified models, the RZ 450e and RX 450h+, MSCHF has manipulated physical steel into impossible, digital-native shapes. Rather than focusing on battery range or horsepower, the collective treats the vehicles as malleable 3D assets, stretching and wringing them out like giant mechanical towels.

Dubbed “Form Cars” rather than concept cars, the two full-scale sculptures borrow directly from the visual language of 3D modeling and animation smear frames—freezing hyper-speed distortion in solid metal. Circle Car bends the RZ 450e nose-to-tail into a continuous loop, dooming the vehicle to chase its own tail forever. Meanwhile, Twisted Carsubjects the RX 450h+ to a violent longitudinal spiral, making it look as though it was caught mid-torsion in a digital rendering glitch.
