Netflix have just launched a new feature called “Play Something“, a personalized way of proposing films, series or documentaries, totally adjusted to your taste and preferences. The system is based on its own algorithm, choosing a specific title and highlighting the reason for your choice.
The way it works is, you click the “Play Something” button, and you will be shown a film or show that was based on Netflix algorithm. If you don’t find the recomended choice interesting, you can click “play something else” and get a new recommended film or show. It will help Netflix mimic a more traditional cable experience where users turn on the TV and something is already playing.
