YOASOBI and ASICS Turn “Just a Little Step” Into a Full Sportstyle Uniform

    written by OS Staff

Some collaborations feel like a logo swap. This one reads more like a mood translated into product: Japanese duo YOASOBI linking with ASICS on a capsule that takes the idea behind their track “Just a Little Step” — the tiny daily push that changes your day — and builds it into something you can actually wear, head-to-toe.

At the center is the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT Y, a SportStyle silhouette reworked with finishes explicitly inspired by the song’s “small step” theme. It drops in three colorways — “Midnight/Dragon Fruit,” “Black/Black,” and “Piedmont Grey/Pure Silver” — moving from nocturnal and sleek to softer, more metallic neutrals.

Instead of over-designing the shoe, the collab lands its identity through details that feel both graphic and functional: a custom “YOASOBI” tag, plus a quick-release drawcord at the heel that plays into the idea of movement as something frictionless — less fuss, more go. The materials language is a blend of performance construction with decorative finishes, so it keeps a technical edge while still feeling like a stylised object.

Then the capsule expands into clothing that mirrors the footwear palette — white, black, purples, and “Port Royal” — designed to look cohesive rather than merch-adjacent. The key pieces are a matching track jacket and track pants, with the pants featuring side zippers for adjustability and styling. Branding stays intentionally quiet: embroidered ASICS and YOASOBI logos appear throughout, but in a restrained way that doesn’t overpower the silhouettes.

Release-wise, the full collection lands on March 19, 2026, via YOASOBI’s online store and ASICS channels.
