Wilson Replaces Spalding as Official NBA Supplier

The NBA has ended a more than 30-year partnership with its official basketball manufacturer, Spalding. Instead they have chosen another brand with many years of experience in the sector which is Wilson, who will begin to provide the game balls for the 2021-22 season.

Sources note that the surprising separation between the NBA and Spalding was by mutual agreement. The move will also transcend to other professional leagues as Wilson will also provide the basketballs for the WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League, and Basketball Africa League.

However, it’s not the first time that Wilson will have this task, since the brand was the supplier of the NBA before Spalding (who joined forces with the NBA in 1983). Wilson currently creates the official basketballs for the NCAA tournament and various high schools across America.
