Legendary fashion designer Alexander Wang recently released a new statement on his personal Instagram account, in response to the sexual assault charges against him which first came to light in December 2020. In the post, the US designer refers to a meeting that he had with several of his accusers, which was later confirmed by Lisa Bloom, the lawyer representing 10 of the accusers.
Earlier this year, several people came forward accusing the fashion designer of sexual harassment and assault. In his previous statements, the creator has always denied these accusations, calling them “false, fabricated, and above all anonymous allegations against me”.
Last night, he posted a new statement in an Instagram story, taking some responsibility for his past behavior.
“A number of people have come forward recently to raise complaints against me about my past personal behavior,” the statement began. I support their right to come forward, and I listened carefully to what they had to say. ” The creator goes on to express his regret, “It was not easy for them to share their stories, and I regret that I acted in a way that caused them pain. Alexander Wang then adds, “While we may not agree on some details of these personal interactions, I will set a better example and use my visibility and influence to encourage others to recognize the harmful behavior. “.

He concludes his statement by claiming that he has learned lessons and is aware of his behavior and the suffering of his victims: “
Life is about learning and growing, and now that I know better, I will do better. “.
