New Balance 1500 Celebrates 35th Anniversary With a Limited Edition Made in UK

Born in the heart of the late 80s running boom, the New Balance 1500 Series was a champion in the making. Now, in 2024, this legendary silhouette celebrates its 35th birthday, and New Balance is pulling out all the stops with a limited-edition “Made in UK” release.

Back in its day, the 1500 Series was hailed as “the closest thing to the perfect running shoe yet.” Three years in the making, the shoe was a collaborative effort between New Balance and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, boasting a revolutionary ENCAP sole that combined plush cushioning with propulsive energy return.

This limited-edition release goes beyond a simple replica. Sure, the iconic silhouette remains, but it’s been treated to a luxurious upgrade. The upper is now draped in a cool grey nubuck, accented with breathable mesh panels. But the real treat lies in the hidden details. Peek inside the shoe, and you’ll find personalized designs adorning the inner sole. The celebration extends to the packaging as well, with a specially designed box marking this momentous occasion.

It’s a fitting tribute to a shoe that helped define an era. The New Balance 1500 Series “Made in UK” isn’t just a sneaker; it’s a piece of running history, meticulously crafted for a new generation of enthusiasts. With its blend of heritage, innovation, and exclusivity, this limited edition is sure to become a collector’s dream.

The New Balance Made in the UK 1500 Series 35th Anniversary Edition sneakers are available now in select stores around the world.
