Disney has announced that they have made a 5-year exclusive contract with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and his company, Proximity Media.

The partnership is based on the creation of ‘feature films, TV series, soundtracks and podcasts to bring consumers closer to stories that involve often overlooked topics.

While Coogler is already working on a sequel to Black Panther, which sadly will be without the now deceased Chadwick Boseman in front, he is also expanding the universe with a Disney + series. The series will take a closer look at Wakanda and the entire kingdom behind the Black Panther phenomenon.

Filming is set to begin next month, while its release is still scheduled for July 6, 2022.
