Venturing beyond capsule collaborations, visionary designer, Dingyun Zhang, unveils his inaugural collection for FW24. Hailing from Beijing, Zhang’s fascination with fashion started early, leading him to craft sneakers during his high school years. Influenced by the artistic styles of David Hockney and Robert Rauschenberg, he pursued fine art studies in England, eventually graduating in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins School in London in 2020.
His journey took a significant turn during his academic pursuits when Yeezy, Kanye West‘s renowned brand, discovered his talents. Zhang found himself contributing to the triumph of iconic models like the Yeezy 700 Wave Runner, within the brand’s dedicated footwear department. This experience served as a catalyst, propelling him into diverse collaborations in the realm of clothing, including notable partnerships with Marni and Moncler.
Now, Zhang ascends to new heights in the fashion realm with the grand reveal of his debut collection, FW24. This introduces a range of outerwear pieces, from coats, hooded jackets, oversized trousers, bags, and more, all infused with a visionary and multifunctional perspective. The culmination of his artistic journey, this collection marks Zhang’s transcendence to a supernatural echelon in the world of fashion.
