ASICS dives into its rich design archive once again, this time resurrecting the GEL-CUMULUS 16—a silhouette first released in 2014—with a modern refresh. Known for its legacy in performance footwear, the Japanese brand brings the model up to speed for today’s aesthetic and functional standards.
To bring the revival full circle, Matty Matheson steps in as the unexpected but perfectly fitting collaborator. Widely recognized for his role in the critically acclaimed series The Bear, Matheson has become a cult figure both on and off screen. Though originally hired as a food consultant, his onscreen charisma earned him a beloved spot among the cast, mirroring his larger-than-life persona in the culinary world.
The reimagined GEL-CUMULUS 16 comes with an updated mesh upper and contrasting overlays, offering two bold colorways: one in green and pink, the other in various shades of blue. Anchoring the design is ASICS’ signature GEL cushioning, engineered for a soft, responsive, and ultra-comfortable ride. With Matheson’s stamp of irreverent cool, the collaboration bridges functional nostalgia with the visual punch today’s streetwear demands.
