From the quiet town of Flimby, nestled in the heart of England’s Lake District, New Balance continues to breathe life into its Made in UK line—an emblem of the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality. The latest chapter comes in the form of a striking new collaboration with Drake, titled the Made in UK Allerdale, which merges classic durability with advanced performance technologies.
This hybrid sneaker fuses premium materials with cutting-edge design: FuelCell cushioning meets a plush Ortholite insole, ensuring long-lasting comfort across urban and rural terrain. A key design flourish lies in the ripstop tongue—woven in Japanese fabric—paired with a unique D-ring lacing system, adding both functionality and a touch of technical elegance. Each pair also includes three extra sets of laces, a subtle nod to British countryside traditions.

To complement the footwear release, Michael Hill and New Balance have also unveiled a capsule collection that channels rural British utility-wear through a modern lens. The range features unstructured blazers, waxed trousers, ripstop shirts and vests, and a tote bag that unites the collection’s core materials into one tactile archive. Every piece is built with versatility and adaptability in mind—equally suited to a hike, commute, or countryside escape.
Together, the Made in UK Allerdale collection is a quiet triumph of form, function, and place, threading the legacy of British craftsmanship with a contemporary, globally informed perspective.
