Argentinian artist Cunt Remember, a.k.a Irene Carbonari, plays in a wide range of disciplines to express radical views. With a background in art history and classical music, Irene built a career as a curator and opened her own art space in Barcelona. After four years of influencing the scene and providing a platform for various collectives, such as MUSA and Toro, Irene relocated to Berlin to further expand artistically, finding a space between electronic music and performance art. By blending these two fields, creating an audiovisual experience that challenges and stretches the boundaries of aesthetic trends.

The team behind the video
“Our process looks like bringing everyone’s passion to the table. And giving the chance to explore further limits in everyones’s field of interest. Basically everyone in the team was creating artwork in trough their medium:
binxycat____ was gathering unconventional clothes from the local Berlin designers which and was connecting them into unique styles, which doesn’t look like inspiration of inspiration, but are reflecting the character of the (Irene’s) music, intersecting, future and past, computers and witches, sensual and powerful.
___bbyaga___ was not jut bringing pretty model grooming , but going further with transforming hair into metal constructions, and fingers and nails into scissors and claws bringing up the animalistic or robotic nature of the character
gil_corujeira was bringing his dark vision into capturing all the corners of this human sculptures, highlighting the depth of the emotions and nerve. You can see through his eyes how delicate and fragile Irene is shown in one picture, and how strong and fearless warrior she is captured at another.
ulianavelgosh. Was bringing the dark direction of narrative to the team at beginning. And at the end – edited the static photo result mixed with 3D scans of the scenes in the studio. In combination with AI was blending all visual mediums together, keeping the drama aligned with the story of main character and the tension of music work.In this group work we owned to show different dimensions of our work, show human imperfections of computerized art. Let’s call it bringing the Art form in 4th dimension where music visuals, set design and character are aligned and work with your senses. The work process was combining a lot of gatherings, discussions, fights, getting into peace and mutual understanding, many hours of collective work of artistic individuals. As a result we are proud to say it is charged with energy and emotions of laughter and tears as true art should be 🙂“

Inspired by the transition from analog to digital in the early 2000s, cunt’s sound is charged with contrasting twisted digital alternative and experimental sound design, clear rolling basslines, and the foundational elements of techno, such as the steady 4×4 analog kicks. These elements symbolize both the rhythmic heartbeat of the body and a proletarian empowerment in art and culture. Irene sees art as a shared space where people can come together.
“My latina background gives me a radical view about the structure of a society where dynamics of power between the ones producing and the ones consuming are very clear. Many years ago I decided to be the one producing–not what society is demanding, but what would help us get what we need, not to be functional, more like what we need to develop our personal process, something neglected and repressed in modernity.”
- Irene Carbonari

“I believe in the value of creating spaces where people can connect with each other and with different perspectives on life. I first did this as a curator, but quit to do music because I find myself more comfortable in the underground. Focusing on niche music, such as experimental genres or psytrance, has helped me discover and evolve my artistic practice and aesthetic. I want to bring this edgy gaze to the popular understanding because we need to be more diverse as a society, to respect everyone’s approach, taking what resonates with us, and finding a common ground, even if we are focused on different things.”

Cunt Remember’s first EP, released on April 27, 2023, via the Danish label Katharsi, sparked a receptive interaction with the scene and led to a meaningful connection with Magdalenas Apathy platform. This collaboration helped shape Irene’s artistic spectrum, resulting in several experimental singles and Cunt Remember’s debut album.
Another significant connection emerged from Copenhagen’s scene, where deep friendships, including one with Schacke, began to bloom. An upcoming collaborative EP is in development, alongside plans for a residency with Martin’s label Sacred Interface at RSO and Den Anden Side in Copenhagen.
“This work you are sharing now is so precious for me, not because of the result, but more because I feel we could bring this visual identity to some chain of thoughts–that later can become music…and then an aesthetic…that will soon be a live show–and I couldn’t do this by myself. I don’t even want to! But it’s the right environment, an inspiring community, and professional, talented friends are the ones that empower and support me to show my true self, through music and performance art. “

Irene’s DJ sets are diverse and challenging, navigating through various BPMs and styles, driving into the zone with an eclectic mix of electronic music such as techno, psytrance, tribal, hi-tech dubstep, guaracha, hyper-post-internet music, always pushing boundaries. Irene has performed under the frameworks of Club Ost, Crude, Den Anden Side, Derestricted, Fitzroy Club, Hör, Kincrime Org, MJUT, Nature Loves Courage, OHM, Oxi, R:emise, RSO, Soulfeeder, Säule, Weeeirdos and her own party series Forever Unlimited.
“Pop music does this very well: takes what’s good from each style and mixes up creating a more digestive byproduct, and for many years this irritated me, but now I see how it was just annoying me cause I had not mastered it, and in general it’s like that no? What we don’t like about others is in general what we can’t see in us, so we project it outside. My brain is all the time parallelizing concepts, and I’m finally being able to reflect this in my artistic practice because I found the right people to develop it. I couldn’t do this by myself. I don’t even want to! But it’s the right environment, an inspiring community, and professional, talented friends are the ones that empower and support me to show my true self, through music and performance art.”
