Captain America Comic Sells for Record-Breaking $3.12M

    written by OVERSTANDARD

Heritage Auctions has just sold a first edition Captain America comic book for $3.12 million.

The comic first hit newsstands in December of 1940, and featured the first appearance of the now iconic superhero, Captain America and his sidekick, Bucky. The price propels the comic book into the top 5 of the most expensive comic books ever sold. In addition, the comic is considered to be close to mint condition, with a 9.4 grade, and among the four best-kept copies in the world.

The record for a comic book sale is held by “Amazing Fantasy No. 15 “, which was sold for $ 3.6 million, back in September 2021 – that is where Spider-Man appears for the first time.
