Levi’s x sacai – Deconstructing Denim with a Japanese Soul

In what’s shaping up to be one of 2025’s most era-defining collaborations, Levi’s has teamed up with Japanese powerhouse sacai to rewire its iconic denim heritage. Under the avant-garde vision of Chitose Abe, the collection pushes the boundaries of classic American workwear through hybridization, technical cuts, and sacai’s signature architectural reconstruction.

This isn’t just a remix – it’s a total reimagination. For women, the standout is a Franken-jacket that fuses Levi’s Type I, II, and III into a single silhouette, while a fluid jumpsuit with T-shirt-style straps offers ease without compromising edge. On the men’s side, things go a bit more understated, with a reversible blouse crafted from the Type II blueprint, complete with premium finishes and subtle twists.

But it’s the unisex pieces that really steal the show. Think seven-pocket jeans in an ultra-wide silhouette, and a reversible denim and grosgrain belt that anchors the collection’s gender-fluid ethos. Everything pulses with Abe’s rebellious elegance, brought to life in a campaign dripping with cinematic cool, inspired by James Dean and that iconic clash between rebellion and refinement. The visuals? Shot by the legendary Craig McDean, and fronted by Chase Sui Wonders and Chandler Fye.

The Levi’s x sacai collection drops May 28 on the Levi’s online store.
