Taking over the second floor of Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche for the retail titan’s sweeping SUPER JAPON program, Chitose Abe collaborates with longtime co-conspirator and colette visionary Sarah Andelman to launch “sacai TO GO.” Running through October 11, the six-week takeover deliberately avoids standard commercial pop-up gimmicks, choosing instead to stage a living, breathing cultural exchange between Tokyo subculture and Left Bank irreverence. Rather than a static boutique, the space acts as a moving collage of fashion, contemporary art, artisanal gastronomy, and micro-edition collectibles—effectively reprogramming the historical Parisian department store into a high-octane Japanese playground.

The floor is grounded by an eclectic community of taste-makers, pairing five-century-old confectionery legend Toraya and Rocky Xu’s Rocky’s Matcha with a rotating weekend residency of Parisian culinary mainstays—including natural wine and ice cream sensation F.O.L.D.E.R.O.L, bento house Iné, kissaten-inspired coffee den Benchy, seasonal eatery NIWA, and cult favourite Dreamin’ Man. On the wardrobe front, Abe subverts luxury retail by serving up exclusive MA-1-detailed logo tees, rare sacai x Carhartt WIP drops, and upcycled Zantan series totes crafted directly from archival fabric scraps alongside Peloqoon plush key charms. The installation’s most subversive touch arrives via an interactive RYVDOLL boxed set, allowing visitors to manipulate magnetic paper versions of archival sacai silhouettes—collapsing decades of avant-garde Japanese fashion history into an addictive, hands-on toy box.
