COMME des GARÇONS is reintroducing a rare and collectible line of chairs designed in the 1980s by the brand’s founder, Rei Kawakubo. Originally produced for only a decade, these chairs are now considered highly sought-after items among collectors of Kawakubo’s work.
The design reflects Rei Kawakubo’s signature minimalist aesthetic. The chairs distill the concept of seating to its essential elements, featuring a low frame that also functions as armrests and a perforated seat. The overall form is simple, clean, and abstract, embodying Kawakubo’s avant-garde approach to design.
The collection includes four variations, offering different color options: silver, black, red, and a special version with a wooden seat.
These exclusive chairs will only be available for purchase in person at the COMME des GARÇONS store in Paris, further adding to their allure as collectible design pieces.
