Trapstar Revives “Red Line” in Tribute to Late Designer Nico Kubisch

by OS Staff September 24, 2025
    written by OS Staff

After a decade-long pause, West London label Trapstar has resurrected its “Red Line” collection for Spring/Summer 2026, a project forged over two years and profoundly shaped by the loss of designer, mentor, and close friend Nico Kubisch during its creation.

Built on the concept “Through tragedy, beauty is reborn,” the reimagined Red Line SS26 channelled grief into renewal, honoring both Nico’s legacy and the philosophy of Samurai culture. Central themes of honor, integrity, and anonymity within brotherhood permeate the collection, serving as a spiritual and aesthetic backbone.

The garments themselves embody memory and resilience: select pieces feature weathered finishes and patina effects as metaphors for age, wisdom, and endurance. This narrative is further deepened through tributes to Nico’s role as a Sensei, guiding Trapstar’s vision behind the scenes.

As the collection notes reflect, Nico Kubisch brought a high-fashion sensibility to a brand that would become a global force, yet he remained out of the spotlight, receiving his recognition in private rather than on the runway. His influence continues to define the Trapstar aesthetic and now anchors the emotional rebirth of Red Line.
