Thom Browne Turns ASICS’ GEL-KAYANO 14 Into a Luxury “Retro Runner” Three-Pack

The fashion x performance crossover gets another sharp, high-polish chapter with the arrival of the Thom Browne x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 collection, a collaboration that takes one of ASICS’ most beloved early-2000s running silhouettes and reframes it as a premium, runway-adjacent sneaker proposition.

The drop is built around three elevated colourways: greyblack, and white, each leaning into Thom Browne’s controlled, tailored worldview rather than loud hype tactics. According to HIGHXTAR, the first two pairs (grey and black) released immediately via Thom Browne’s official website and physical stores, while the white pair is scheduled to follow later, on March 23

Design-wise, the collaboration keeps the recognizable GEL-KAYANO 14 shape intact — the tech-runner curves, the layered panels, that archival “retro-running” energy, but upgrades the build with more luxurious execution. The upper combines breathable mesh with suede overlays, pushing the shoe closer to the kind of “expensive basics” territory Browne does best: familiar, but unmistakably refined.

The most explicit Thom Browne signature lands at the heel: the designer’s instantly recognizable navy/white/red tricolour detailing, functioning like a small flag planted on an otherwise understated runner. Underfoot, you still get the model’s classic ASICS GEL cushioning setup — meaning the shoe isn’t just styled like performance, it’s still built around comfort and wearability
