World’s First SMS Text Message Sold as an NFT for $150,000 at Auction

The world’s first ever SMS text message has been sold as an NFT at an auction in Paris, for $149,729. The text was originally sent by the British programmer Neil Papworth, in 1992, It reads: “Merry Christmas“. The receiver was Richard Jarvis, who at the time was the CEO of Vodafone. He received the message on his Orbitel 901 cellphone.
