Merging Jonny Johansson’s Scandinavian ease with the British-Cypriot pioneer’s radical geometry, a 12-piece lineup reanimates fashion’s most legendary turn-of-the-millennium experiments.

When it comes to conceptual design that bends the boundaries of technology, narrative, and architecture, few minds match the visionary weight of Hussein Chalayan. Now, in one of the most intellectually charged fashion crossovers of the season, Acne Studios is joining forces with the legendary designer to unearth and re-engineer his most groundbreaking creations from the early 2000s.

Spearheaded by Acne’s creative director Jonny Johansson, the 12-piece capsule draws directly from Chalayan’s seminal runway milestones—including Ventriloquy (2001), Medea (2002), and Manifest Destiny (2003)—filtering avant-garde construction through Acne’s distinct contemporary utility.

Spanning patchworked denim, twisted silhouettes, trompe l’oeil python prints, and sharply asymmetrical tailoring, the collection breathes new life into Chalayan’s historic signatures. Accompanied by a reimagined Camero handbag and collaborative slogan tees, the project extends far beyond clothing: the campaign was shot inside London’s V&A East Storehouse amidst museum archives, paired with a strictly limited-edition book titled Reference: Hussein Chalayan.
