After having presented the “My Trail” campaign last week, and the REESE COOPER collaboration back in February, Merrell 1TRL has unveiled their newest campaign titled “The Future Trail“. Shot on 16mm, in the central Mexican state of Edomex, the campaign captures the unexpected journeys of those on the fringes, shedding light on the future of trail footwear, while showcasing innovative, multi-purpose, and easily transportable silhouettes.
As part of the campaign launch, a brand new 1TRL silhouette is introduced: the Hut Moc 2 Packable. This ultimate travel shoe is specifically designed to attach easily to backpacks, featuring a unique zip and clip design system that allows the user to conveniently zip the shoes together and clip them to their pack or stow them away.
Building on last year’s successful launch, the Hydro Moc All-Terrain system returns with separate modular components that can be purchased individually. The system’s base, the AT Cage, can be worn with or without an insert. The Hydro Moc AT SS and Hydro Moc AT SS Mid inserts come in moonbeam and black, and offer a lightweight, breathable mesh design that prevents debris from passing through when wet. The mid version features a tabi toe neoprene bootie built for wet weather and with enough structural integrity to be worn alone outside of its cage.
Both the Hut Moc 2 Packable and the Hydro Moc AT system exemplify multi-functional footwear, inspiring adaptability across versatile environments and pushing the boundaries of purpose and exploratory design.
