The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has launched its first dedicated bookstore in Seoul, created in collaboration with Hyundai Card. Situated in Apgujeong’s Dosan Park, the space is a carefully curated environment, housing more than 1,100 titles. Visitors can explore exclusive exhibition catalogs, publications on contemporary art, photography, and design, alongside MoMA’s own catalogues.
Unlike earlier MoMA stores, which mixed books with retail, this new venture focuses exclusively on publications, while still offering a selection of design objects and lifestyle items from the MoMA Design Store. Iconic cultural staples, including New Era caps and crewnecks, also anchor the collection, making the space both a literary hub and a design destination.
The collaboration between MoMA and Hyundai Card, active since 2006, has grown from initial sponsorships into a cultural exchange program. A highlight of this partnership is the Hyundai Card MoMA Digital Wall, an installation in Seoul that streams digital artworks shown in New York, creating a real-time bridge between the two cities.
The bookstore is now open to the public at:
8-10 Dosan-daero 45-gil, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea.
