No Limit Records, also known as No Limit Enterprises, was founded by Percy Miller, better known by his stage name Master P. The label originated in Richmond, California, in 1990. Master P, an aspiring rapper and entrepreneur, initially started the label as a means to distribute his own music independently.

In the early years, No Limit Records faced challenges and limited success. However, everything changed when Master P relocated the label to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1995. It was there that No Limit Records experienced significant growth and achieved remarkable success.

Master P, offered Snoop Dogg an opportunity to join the label, providing him with artistic freedom and a platform to release his music independently. The partnership with No Limit Records allowed Snoop Dogg to explore different musical styles and expand his artistic horizons. Additionally, the business arrangement with No Limit Records offered Snoop Dogg a lucrative deal and the chance to collaborate with other talented artists within the No Limit roster.

During his stint with No Limit, Snoop Dogg released: “Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told” (1998), “No Limit Top Dogg” (1999), and “Tha Last Meal” (2000).

No Limit Records’ success was not limited to music alone. The label expanded its brand into various business ventures, including a clothing line, film production, and sports management. It became a multi-faceted entertainment company under Master P’s guidance.
