Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Patta, has partnered with leading cycling brand Rapha, to create the Patta Cycling Team and release their inaugural collection, while promoting representation and diversity in the world of cycling.
The Patta Cycling Team aims to inspire individuals from all walks of life to embrace cycling, and the collaboration with Rapha serves to establish role models that can motivate the next generation of cyclists while ensuring the sport is accessible to everyone, regardless of their preferences or location.
The Patta + Rapha kit and cycling team logo have been meticulously designed by Patta’s Creative Director, Vincent van de Waal. The on-bike collection seamlessly blends Patta’s distinctive style with Rapha’s expertise in performance cycling gear.
The kit proudly incorporates various elements that embody Patta’s fearless approach to tackling new challenges. The centerpiece of the team crest is a gecko, chosen for its agility and vibrant appearance. Inspired by the classic track “One More Road to Cross” by DMX, the team’s motto has been translated into Sranan Tongo as a tribute to Patta’s founders’ Surinamese heritage. The positioning of the fist symbolizes empowerment and a commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity within the sport of cycling.
The collaboration between Patta and Rapha has resulted in a kit that encapsulates their shared mission of inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds to embrace the cycling lifestyle.
“Working with Patta on this collaboration has been incredibly exciting, not only because of the products we created but more so because of the bigger purpose it serves. I’m personally really proud to be a member of the Patta Cycling Team and hope to inspire others to ride. Two years ago I didn’t own a road bike or even imagine cycling being a sport I would one day enjoy, simply because growing up I never saw “people like me” riding. With this initiative, we’re hoping to change this perception and open up the sport to everyone no matter their age, gender or background.”

The Patta x Rapha Cycling collection, will be released June 23, on the Patta website and stores.
