Splicing recycled technical layers with vintage blanket prints, aggressive trail treads, and an anti-destination ethos, the eco-conscious indie label returns to performance footwear.
When eco-conscious design collides with high-performance Japanese tooling, the results reject fast trends in favor of slow, intentional wandering. Story mfg. and ASICS are back together for their latest footwear venture, shifting gears toward the liberating philosophy of “rambling”—the art of moving through the world with zero destination or hurried agenda.
The collaborative silhouette—the GEL-TRANSCEND FJ—arrives in two distinct colorways: “Grey and Black” and “Rich Brown.” Built with recycled synthetic leather overlays and technical tread soles designed for rugged trail grip, the shoes are detailed with Story mfg.’s signature graphics drawn from vintage camping blankets. The accompanying campaign leans fully into the ethos, starring a collective of foragers, blacksmiths, farmers, and dancers embodying off-grid motion.
The collaboration drops online via Story mfg. on November 11 before a global stockist rollout on November 20—accompanied by physical “Rambling Club” pop-ups in London and New York.
