After having presented their Miami Vice Satin Bomber Jacket and a hoodie, along with an Ultra Luxury Coffee, luxury brand and avant garde transportation Magazine, VÉHICULE, has teamed up with Italian watch manufacturer, UNIMATIC, and created a luxury watch.
Made in Italy, the “meca-quartz” hybrid chronograph combines elements of battery-based and mechanical watchmaking. Its timekeeping is based on a quartz movement, ensuring shockproof performance for offshore races with impacts up to 12G. However, the chronometry start and stop resets rely on springloaded mechanisms, providing a mechanical touch.
The watch boasts a solid 316 brushed stainless-steel case, with a screwed-in, 2-mm thick caseback and a large 8 mm-diameter crown coupled with fat 5.5-mm, screw-in pushers and high-quality gaskets. Thanks to these features, the watch has been individually tested to ensure water resistance up to 30 atm (300m or 1000ft).
The caseback of the watch features an engraving of the world champion’s slogan, “LOSING STARTS WITH SECOND PLACE,” as well as an individual number that indicates its place within a limited edition of just 30 pieces. The watch comes with a 24-month worldwide warranty.
This unique timepiece is finished with a yellow TPU two-piece strap that has black DLC brushed stainless-steel hardware, signed by UNIMATIC. The VK64 mech-quartz movement is tuned to 32,768 Hz for 3 years or battery life, ensuring accurate timing with 1/5-of-a-second indication and a 60-minute counter.
