The new adidas  SS25 collection, inspired by the vibrant culture of South Los Angeles, serves as a powerful visual manifesto celebrating heritageidentity, and style. Designer Willy Chavarria infuses the collection with deep cultural significance, prominently featuring the colors of the Mexican flag—red, white, and green—as a central motif. Symbolic elements like the Aztec eagle and Old English font spelling out “Chicano” are strategically placed, anchoring the designs in a narrative of cultural pride. This collection sparks an essential dialogue about rootsvisibility, and representation in contemporary fashion.

“Adidas’ place in Chicano culture is a bit of an untold story. I love sharing this iconic brand in a way that reflects how I wore it growing up and how we wear it now. Working with my close friends and extended family on this project in Los Angeles was a powerful and personal experience. It allowed me to capture the beauty of our brown brothers and sisters in the context in which many of us live,” says the acclaimed designer.

The SS25 collection introduces a range of standout pieces characterized by oversized silhouettes. Notable items include sweatshirts with tricolor panels reflecting the Mexican flag’s hues, black tracksuits featuring Three Stripes and Trefoillogos reimagined in red or adorned with floral embroidery, and the iconic Jabbar basketball shoe, reinterpreted in Lowand Dress variations. These pieces blend streetwear aesthetics with cultural storytelling, creating a bold and cohesive lineup.

The release of the SS25 collection will occur in two phases. The first drop is scheduled for May 8, available at select adidas stores, the CONFIRMED app, and the official websites of both adidas and Chavarria’s brand. The second drop will follow on July 10, offering further opportunities for consumers to engage with this culturally resonant collection.
