Carhartt WIP and Nicholas Daley Unite Workwear and Reggae Heritage for FW25

by OS Staff October 21, 2025
    written by OS Staff

Carhartt WIP joins forces with British designer Nicholas Daley for Fall/Winter 2025, unveiling a capsule that bridges reggae’s cultural legacy with contemporary workwear design. Rooted in Daley’s dual heritage—Jamaican and Scottish—the collaboration channels the designer’s lifelong dialogue between music, identity, and craftsmanship, translating rhythm and memory into texture and form.

The project traces back to Daley’s parents, Maureen and Jeffrey Daley, who ran one of Scotland’s early reggae sound system nights in the 1970s—a cornerstone of the community that shaped his creative language. Here, that lineage becomes tangible: Carhartt’s utilitarian DNA meets Daley’s handcrafted sensibility, creating garments that speak to both function and emotion.

The collection’s highlights include graphic T-shirts, a twill Harrington jacket, and a reinterpretation of the classic Carhartt WIP chore coat, all reimagined through Daley’s lens of cultural storytelling and detail work. Accessories deepen the narrative—most notably a tartan record bag and custom enamel pins, which weave together nods to Jamaican rhythm and Scottish tradition. As a sensory flourish, the drop also features incense sticks developed with Kuumba, designed to evoke the earthy scents of both landscapes, merging craft and spirituality into a single experience.

Daley’s collaboration with Carhartt WIP reaffirms his position as one of Britain’s most culturally conscious designers, capable of transforming heritage into dialogue rather than nostalgia. Together, the two brands carve out a new intersection where sound, style, and story coexist with understated precision.

The Carhartt WIP x Nicholas Daley FW25 collection launches on October 23 across official Carhartt WIP and Nicholas Daley stores.
