According to reports, 66,000 marijuana convictions are set to be dismissed in Los Angeles county by D.A. Jackie Lacey.
“The dismissal of tens of thousands of old cannabis-related convictions in Los Angeles County will bring much-needed relief to communities of color that disproportionately suffered the unjust consequences of our nation’s drug laws.”

The order by Lacey will dismiss 62,000 felony convictions for weed sales and cultivation, as well as 4,000 misdemeanor possession cases for marijuana. Some of the felonies being removed reportedly go back to 1961 and 53,000 people are set to benefit from this order.
