Epic Games Buys Bandcamp

The company behind Fortnite, Unreal Tournament and Gears of War, among others, Epic Games, has just purchased the online music service-company Bandcamp, for an undisclosed amount.

According to Ethan Diamod, founder of Bandcamp, this action will not change the dynamics of the platform, since he will retain his position as CEO, and Bandcamp will continue to operate as an independent market in the music community. Although, with Epic Games in the equation, the music portal will have a superior development and expansion in the international market thanks to the video game company.

Other objectives of this agreement is that both companies are focused on creating portals so that independent artists can get to keep a larger amount of their sales.
