Seven years after their first collaboration, Brain Dead and AIAIAI are back — and the new drop pushes their cult partnership into fresh territory. What started in 2018 as a graphic-heavy remix of AIAIAI’s TMA-2 modular headphones has evolved into a full-on exploration of how sound equipment can double as a piece of visual culture. This time, the duo return with a new take on the Tracks Headphones and, for the first time ever, a Brain Dead–designed version of AIAIAI’s UNIT-4 studio monitors.
The updated Tracks Headphones stay loyal to their classic supra-aural shape, but Brain Dead give them a jolt of personality: bold purple ear pads and a sharper visual attitude that immediately sets them apart from standard audio gear. With 40mm drivers tuned for balanced sound across the spectrum, the headphones feel built for listeners who bounce between playlists, work sessions, and late-night experiments.
The bigger leap comes with the UNIT-4 monitors — a debut collaboration for a product usually associated with studio desks, not creative collectives. AIAIAI’s portable monitors already have a following among musicians who work in motion, but the Brain Dead version leans even more into mobility. The speakers run wirelessly, pack battery power, and use ultra-low-latency audio, making them viable for everything from bedroom setups to on-the-go video edits to impromptu DJ rehearsals.
Both products are available now through the Brain Dead online store.
