Although everything is gold and glitter on the surface, there are plenty of problems beneath the surface when it comes to the new Netflix mini-series HOLLYWOOD.
The series follows a group of budding actors and filmmakers in Hollywood, in the post-World War II era, and their struggle to become a somebody in the movie industry.
The series sheds light on many of the problems that existed in the ‘golden age’ of Hollywood, focusing in particular on the unfair systems that create bias across race, gender and sexuality, while there is also a fierce interplay of intrigue, sexual relations and power struggles in between.
HOLLYWOOD will premiere on Netflix on May 1, 2020.
