The Metropolitan Museum of Art has unveiled the design for its new modern and contemporary art wing, designed by Frida Escobedo. The Tang Wing, named after major donors, will add 126,000 square feet of space, including 70,000 square feet for galleries. The building will feature a limestone latticework offering views of Central Park and connect to existing galleries to highlight cross-cultural connections. The fifth floor will house a café, while the sculpture garden will relocate to the fourth-floor terrace. The project is expected to cost $500 million and is slated for completion in 2030.
