Plaza launches as a new cultural platform, and on September 14, invites you to a cultural festival at the old slaughterhouse in Sydhavnen, Aarhus. The goal is to unite electronic music with a creative daytime program that showcases innovative solutions to global problems through design, art, and gastronomy.
Plaza is a dynamic platform and a new urban space, aiming to unite and create new connections within the creative environment. With the urban and industrial harbor area, at the old slaughterhouse site, Svendborgrampen will provide the asphalt for the first edition of Plaza and activate a completely new urban space that has never been publicly accessible before.
“There is a need for a completely new cultural format that does not exist in Aarhus or Denmark today. A format that crosses demographics and doesn’t see its target group as Generation Z, Æ, or Ø. Instead, we call everyone
The Re-Generation Demographic – those who share values such as diversity and sustainability. Here we bring together actors around the vision of a better and more exciting future, connecting local solutions with global challenges.”– Martin Thim, Partner & Sustainability Manager for DTD Group and founder of Kulbroen
Plaza focuses on the thriving and lively electronic music scene with both local DJs, national artists, and headliners from abroad. Local legends are paired with international headliners to create an atmospheric soundscape that will contribute to new experiences and community in Sydhavnen.
The festival’s carefully selected music program is complemented by a curated daytime program featuring local cultural actors. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with various actors presenting everything from performance happenings, design, art, and dining experiences.
Specifically, you’ll be met by community builders Now You Know, visit Club Curious’ creative café, enjoy a vegetarian communal dinner from Dish. Please, taste fallen fruit cider from Æblefald, check out the electric motocross bike of the future from ILL MOTO, experience thought-provoking exhibitions from Hall of Femme, and dance to the finest electronic music by international artists like Yulia Niko and Alex Kennon, as well as local Pana Radio’s selected artists.
Plaza is where culture meets, leaving participants inspired and ready to make a positive impact on society.
