VF Corp., seven years after purchasing Dickies for $820 million, has officially sold the workwear label in a deal valued at approximately $600 million, according to Business of Fashion. The sale marks the end of a turbulent chapter for Dickies under VF’s ownership, a period defined by internal restructuring and a headquarters relocation that challenged the brand’s stability.
For Bluestar Alliance, the acquisition represents a strategic expansion. In recent years, the group has absorbed fashion heavyweights such as Off-White and Palm Angels, steadily broadening its influence across the global fashion landscape. Adding Dickies to this roster not only strengthens Bluestar’s portfolio but also creates a bridge between functional workwear and the creative communities that have long reinterpreted and reappropriated Dickies’ garments.
This move positions Bluestar Alliance at the intersection of heritage utility and streetwear-driven creativity, while closing a complex era in Dickies’ history under VF Corp.
