Warner Bros to Release Blockbuster Movies like Dune, Matrix 4, & Suicide Squad in Cinemas and HBO Max

The COVID-19 crisis has been like kryptonite to cinemas around the world. The strict restrictions and fear of catching the dreaded decease, has caused people to stay home and stream a lot more than usual.

Legendary entertainment company Warner Bros. has there for decided to release all of their upcoming film releases in 2021 on HBO Max and in cinemas simultaneously. Including Blockbusters like DUNE, Matrix 4, Suicide Squad and Godzilla vs. King.

However, they state that premiere movies will only be available on HBO Max the first month. After that, they will be shown exclusively in cinemas for a period of time.

In a press release, Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff states that the decision has been made because it is not expected that cinemas will open in full force just yet. In the announcement, Warner Bros. calls the strategy a ‘one-year plan‘.
