Lensed by Piczo across traditional workshops and green open spaces, Nigo’s latest outing for KENZO revives archival utility to celebrate the poetry of craft and downtime.

For its Pre-Spring 2027 campaign, KENZO trades the concrete sprawl of Paris for the quiet, meditative landscapes of Chiba, Japan. Captured through the lens of photographer and director Piczo, the campaign unfolds across traditional ceramics workshops, classic Japanese residential architecture, and sprawling natural vistas, constructing a visual narrative around the dual rhythms of an artisan’s life: intense craft and effortless downtime.

At the core of the collection lies the official revival of KENZO Work & Play, an archival sub-label resurrected by artistic director Nigo to anchor a wardrobe built around uncompromising everyday utility.

The collection seamlessly balances rugged utility with playful streetwear sensibilities. Key highlights include varsity-inspired silhouettes, intricate floral embroidery, cherry-blossom motifs, and the striking Ikat Flower pattern—a direct nod to Japan’s heritage Kasuri textile tradition. Complemented by two-tone house branding, all-over Kenzogram monograms, and crisp coral-and-blue striping, the collection bridges heritage technique with contemporary streetwear edge.
